What children learn in Year 2 computing
In Year 2, children create and debug simple programs and use logical reasoning to predict what they will do. They learn to keep personal information private and where to go for help online.
They recognise uses of technology beyond school, such as in shops and at home.
Key goals for Year 2 include:
- say what personal information is and keep it private
- name trusted adults to tell about worries online
- predict what a simple program will do
US equivalent: Year 2 pupils are about the age of Grade 1. Each topic shows the closest Common Core standard.
